SS Badger
If you have never been to Ludington don't miss the sailing in and out of Port of the SS Badger. This is a favorite Ludington past time for residents and visitors alike. Gather at one of our local waterfront parks to watch the SS Badger as it arrives and departs the Ludington Harbor. It is truly a site to behold.

Lighthouses
In and around Ludington are 3 lighthouses open for tours throughout the season. The North Breakwater Light is located at Ludington's lakeshore and the Stearns Park Beach area. The Big Sable Lighthouse can be accessed to the north of the City. Also don't miss the Little Sable Lighthouse.

Pere Marquette Memorial
Just across the Channel on Buttersville Peninsula you will see a large white cross. This cross is set in memory of the place of death of Father Marquette. Ludington is the Vatican certified place of Father Marquette's death.

Ludington Lore: The hymn "The Old Rugged Cross" is said to be based on the original wood cross that marked the place of Father Marquettes death.
