Badger’s Horn of Thanks and Hope
First Mate Danny Hecko suggested that on Monday May 4th, the Badger sound its horn signaling the first day back to work for the Badger crew preparing the Badger for the start of her 2020 sailing season which is scheduled to start on June 12.
We decided to expand the First Mate’s idea and sound the horn each day at noon to salute all of the brave men and women who have provided essential services during this Covid – 19 pandemic. In the absence of Ludington’s historic noon siren, the Badger’s iconic noon horn will also be a symbol of hope that we will soon defeat this virus enemy and return to a more normal way of life. We will sound the horn each weekday until the sailing season begins.
