Danaher Water Tower Project Notice

September 4, 2012

Project Notification

The City of Ludington has awarded a maintenance contract to Utility Service Co. to repaint the interior and exterior of the City’s water tower located at810 E. Danaher Street. The existing paint surfaces are in need of resurfacing to protect against corrosion and extend the life of the water tower. The interior will be sandblasted and coated with an epoxy coating system. The exterior will be power washed and pole sanded so that two coats of “white” polyurethane paint can be applied.

If your property is located close to the water tower site, you may notice some dust and odors in the air from the work. These are not harmful to you; however, you may want to keep your windows closed on your home and vehicle during the day to prevent dust from entering your home or vehicle. Utility Service Co. is fully aware of all regulatory requirements of this type of project.

Working hours will be limited to the hours of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday thru Saturday. Generators, air compressors, cable winches and other equipment will be in use during the working hours of this project. The contractor may elect to work some Sundays but will minimize noise activity as much as possible.

Throughout the project, one may notice slight water pressure fluctuations from time to time due to this particular water tower being out of service.
