FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS- PUBLIC WORKS

Q.  How do I dispose of large branches that I have trimmed from my trees?
A.  The City will pick up branches in 10 ft. lengths or less.  We ask that you stack the brush in the right-of-way  and call the Dept. of  Public Works at 843-2873 and it will be picked up within ten working days.

Q.  My tree that is located in the right-of-way has died, what can I do?
A.  Call the Dept. of  Public Works at 843-2873, and the tree will be checked for cut down.  If it needs to be cut down, a paint mark will be placed on the truck of the tree, and it will be cut down in the winter when the ground is frozen.  The stump will be ground out in the early spring, and your tree will be replaced later that same spring.
