Captain Michael L. Harrie began his law enforcement career as a part-time police officer with the Hesperia Police Department in 1994.  Later in 1994 Captain Harrie was hired as a full-time police officer by the Ludington Police Department.

As a member of the Ludington Police Department Captain Harrie has served in uniform patrol, the S.S.C.E.N.T. Narcotics Team, as a Detective, Road Patrol Sergeant, and Detective Sergeant.  He was promoted to the rank of Captain on January 3^rd, 2010.

Captain Michael L. Harrie earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at West Shore Community College in Scottville, Michigan.  He has also completed coursework at Ferris State University, and a number of investigative courses such as Advanced Homicide Investigation, Basic and Advanced Narcotics Investigation, and Arson Investigation, Basic and Advanced REID Interview & Interrogation.

Captain Harrie is one of three certified L.P.D. Police Motor Officers, and is responsible for the implementation of the Sex Offender Enforcement Program.
