Light Up The Lake is a community New Year's celebration in downtown Ludington.
The event will Feature:
- Michigan's Largest New Year's Ball
- Music
- A fireworks spectacular
- Commemorative Glassware
The Inaugural 2010 "Light Up The Lake" New Year's Celebration brought over 5,000 people to downtown Ludington.
Purpose
- Light up the Lake strengthens & reinforces Downtown
- Light up the Lake serves as a "shoulder season" activity in Downtown Ludington
- In a tourist town like Ludington, winter is a difficult time for many businesses. This event brings locals back downtown, and draws visitors from surrounding areas to enjoy what Ludington's downtown has to offer.
- It provides an economic boost for downtown businesses
- Restaurants, hotels, motels, bars, pubs and shops all prospered from this event in downtown.
- By offering later hours, customer appreciation parties and specials we draw people not only to the ball drop, but also to downtown businesses.
- This is a unique event to Ludington
- Ludington's Light up the Lake New Year's celebration consists of the Largest, and Greenest Ball in Michigan! With well over 6000 LED Lights, The Ludington Ball can operate off of one standard power outlet.
- This large winter street party was the start of a tradition in Ludington in 2010.
