2010 PERSONAL PROPERTY STATEMENT
Act No. 206 of the Michigan State Tax law mandates that all businesses annually file a declaration of Personal Property with the Assessor's Office of the jurisdiction where the property is situated. Please complete the attached forms and return to the above address, Taxpayer make a copy for your file. The attached instruction will assist you in completing your return. All Personal Property in the State of Michigan must be declared in the jurisdiction where it is located on December 31, 2009.
All Personal Property statements must be signed by the responsible taxpayer. Even if you have no Personal Property, which is assessable you must still complete the form, sign it, and return it.
If your declaration is not filed in a timely manner, an estimate of your 2010 Personal Property Assessment will be made by the Assessor, which estimate will serve as a basis for your September and December 2010 tax bills.
If you have questions or need assistance in completing your Personal Property return, please call the Office of the Assessor in the jurisdiction where the property is located.
FAILURE TO FILE THIS FORM WILL JEOPARDIZE YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A SECTION 154 APPEAL WITH THE STATE TAX COMMISSION.
