Public Works

The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintenance work for the City of Ludington streets, alleys, parks and general City property.


Department Responsibilities


Responsibilities include:
  • Clean and sweep streets
  • Cleaning of catch basins
  • Cutting down and removal of dead trees within the City right of way
  • Fall-leaf pickup
  • Grading and graveling of City alleys
  • Installation and removal of snow/sand fence at the beach and surrounding areas
  • Snow plowing
  • Street markings
  • Street repairs
  • Street signs
  • Tree limb/brush clean-up
  • Working on the special events that occur through out the year by providing the requests of each organization such as picnic tables, barricades, trash barrels, etc.



PUBLIC BID NOTICE

The City of Ludington will be accepting bids for the 2018 Sidewalk Replacement Program until Noon on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Submit bid in sealed envelope marked "2018” Sidewalk Replacement Program", and turn in to City Clerk's Office, Municipal Bldg 400 S. Harrison St, Ludington, MI  49431.
